The 2011-2012 Miramonte Basketball team completed their first ever undefeated regular season by defeating Campolindo 65-38 last night. With the win the Mats finish the regular season at 26-0 and claim the DFAL Championship.
The post season starts next week. The brackets will be released Sunday afternoon.
The 2009-2010 Miramonte Matadors will always be rembered as the "Cardiac Kids" for the flair for the dramatics and the late game comebacks. And, even the late game near comebacks.
As the Mats start the 2010-2011 season with expectaions to finish better than the 2009-10 here is a look back at some of those great highlights:
The Miramonte Class of 2010 basketball team will be remebered as the cardiac kids. leading the way were a pair of seniors, League MVP Stephanie Golden and All League Player Kristine Miller.
Both Golden and Miller began their college basketball careers last week. Golden in Spokane Washington with the Gonzaga Bulldogs on the West Coast Conference. Miller in Tacoma Washington at the University of Puget Sound of the Northwest Conference.
Oddly enough first year head coach Kelly Sopak hails from nearby Puyallup Washington. Congrats to both Golden and Miller. Good luck this season.
